OCCUPATIONAL LIST

We are reproducing below the list of occupations (in alphabetical order) drawn from Skill Type 0, Skill Level A and Skill Level B of the National Occupational Classification (NOC).

The occupations are purely for immigration selection purpose and do not imply that these are readily available for employment.

To qualify, the applicant should have at least one year full-time working experience in one of these occupations within last 10 years.

The applicant need not meet 'Employment Requirements' as prescribed for that occupation under NOC but he or she must be doing most of the 'Main Duties'  as required under that occupation.

No occupation has been restricted so far by Immigration Canada.

What the new Regulations say about Experience Factor?

Section 80 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations deal with the experience factor.

Subsection (4) of this section defines 'Work in excess' as:

A period of work experience that exceeds full-time work in one occupation, or simultaneous periods of work experience in more than one full-time occupation, shall be evaluated as a single period of full-time work experience in a single occupation.

Subsection (6) restricts Immigration Officer from considering applicant for other occupation(s) not specifically mentioned by the applicant in the application.

Full-time work has been defined under subsection (7) as equivalent to at least 37.5 hours of work per week.
