IMPORTANT DATES FOR ADMISSION TO FIRST YEAR 19 JANUARY 16 FEBRUARY Final date for receipt at Queen’s of Personal Statement of Experience for Concurrent Education programs (QB and QF). No statements will be accepted after this date. 27 APRIL Final date for receipt at Queen’s of required documents. All required documents must be submitted and received before an application will be eligible to be considered for an offer of admission. Documents received after this date cannot be processed for admission decisions. 28 MAY Final round of early offers mailed. IMPORTANT DATES FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS June 1 - Final date for receipt at OUAC of applications and amendments to all programs June 30 - Final date for receipt at Queen’s of all required documents If you are transferring from another university, having completed a minimum of 4.0 full year courses, or if you already have a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, you may apply for advanced standing for previously completed courses. Please enter "2" in the Year Code field on the application form. Each program has different admission criteria. Please consult our web site at http://www.queensu.ca for further information.ADMISSION PROCEDURE The Ontario Universities’ Application Centre (OUAC) will forward applications to Queen’s Admission Services. A letter of acknowledgement will be sent to each applicant indicating all documentation required for submission to complete the application file. All supporting documentation must be received at Admission Services before an admission decision can be made. The letter will also outline the admission procedure and indicate important dates to remember. Included with the acknowledgement letter for first-year applicants will be the Personal Information Form (PIF)/Personal Statement of Experience (PSE). The PIF/PSE is a required document for all programs except Arts and Science. The PIF/PSE is available on our website at http://www.queensu.ca/liaision/pif.htm.Offers of admission to most programs may be made as soon as all supporting documentation has been received. Please refer to the acknowledgement letter for further information. The final round of early offer decisions will be mailed on 28 May. Please ensure that all program choices for Queen’s are entered on the application. Offers to an alternate program are not made to candidates who are not offered their program of choice. Order of choice on the application form will not affect admission or scholarship/award decisions. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Applicants from the British System of education must complete five subjects at the Ordinary Level and at least two at the Advanced Level (excluding the General Paper) with grades not lower than "C". Applicants from American Schools must complete the Grade 12 diploma in a strong academic program with high standing and a minimum of 1200 in combined SAT I scores. AP courses are recommended but do not carry degree credit. Applicants completing the International Baccalaureate Diploma must obtain a minimum of 28 points (exclusive of bonus points) and passes in six subjects with at least three at the Higher Level. IB Diploma candidates may receive transfer credits in some programs. Applicants for other systems of education should contact Applicant Services for further information or check our website at http://www.queensu.caTEST OF FACILITY IN ENGLISH Non-Canadian applicants may be required to provide proof of proficiency in English. The only acceptable tests are: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 580 for the paper-based test and 237 for the computer- based test. Applicants to the School of Business must provide a Test of Written English if the paper – based test is taken and provide a minimum score of 5. Michigan English Language Assessment Battery (MELAB) with a minimum score of 90. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 7. Application Status Queen’s offers a web service that allows applicants to check on the status of their application. Each applicant is encouraged to check the mailing address submitted to Queen’s; documents required and received and the status of the application. This service is available at http://www.asq.queensu.ca/asq.htm. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that all required documentation has been received at Queen’s.
