HIGHER STUDIES IN CANADA - PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

Nipissing University is proud to be the smallest university in Ontario. Located in the city of North Bay, 350 km north of Toronto, it is a young, progressive institution offering undergraduate degree programs in Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences and professional degree programs in Business Administration, Applied Technology and Education. Full-time enrollment is approximately 1800 students. This allows for an average class of 30 students. The smaller class size encourages students to participate, question freely and request personal assistance.

Students are encouraged to apply early for higher studies in Canada. The deadline for receipt of applications and all official academic documentation (not faxed copies or photocopies) at the Office of the Registrar is June 1. Notarized English translations are also required for all documents not presented in English. Presentation of the minimum requirements for admission will not necessarily guarantee admission. Full-time admission is only available for the September entry point. All International applicants whose first language is not English are required to submit proof of proficiency in the English language. Acceptable proof is the TOEFL with a minimum score of 550, MELAB with a minimum score of 90% or CAEL with a 60.

Before applying, it is strongly recommended that interested candidates contact their local Canadian Embassy or High Commission for details on student visa application procedures and the length of time required to process a visa application. Student visa applicants should also ensure that they have adequate financial resources during their stay in Canada. Scholarships or bursaries are not available.
