PROCEDURE FOR ADMISSION

The admissions process at Lakehead University involves individual consideration of the application and the complete academic record, The latter should indicate the subjects studied, grades achieved and diploma(s)/degree(s) granted. Unofficial statements of marks may be submitted as interim working documents; however, final official documents must be forwarded directly to Lakehead University from each of the institutions attended and bear the official seal of the institutions. If the certificates are not in English, notarized English translations together with copies of the original certificates are required. Facility in the use of the English language is essential for studies at Lakehead University. An applicant whose native language is not English will be required to demonstrate competence in the English language by means of the test administered by the English Language Institute, University of Michigan (minimum of 90), or by the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) of the Education Testing Service (minimum 550 - written test; minimum 213 -computer test).

Most students commence studies at Lakehead University in September. The deadline for application and receipt of supporting documents is July 25 for USA applicants and March 1 for applicants from other countries. Students interested in the (Honours) Bachelor of Arts may also commence studies February 1. Deadline for application and receipt of supporting documentation for February 1 entry: USA - December 15, other countries -December 1.

As financial assistance is not available to students at the undergraduate level, students are advised to arrange adequate financial support.
